Ammouliani is a small, cozy island, located in Chalkidiki peninsular(Greece), in the bay of Holy Athos mount. Its territory is just 4,5 square km, and the population is about 600 people.
Level of difficulty: you do not need to have previous experience in kayaking.
Friday: we leave Sofia on Friday morning at 8.00 a.m. and arrive in the afternoon Ammouliani island and set up our tents in the campground. We listen to the safety briefing and get on the kayaks to have an afternoon kayak tour. Accommodation in tents in the campground.
Saturday: after breakfast we get on the kayaks for an adventure on the small islands near Ammouliani. During our kayak trip in enjoy the nature, which we can see just by kayaking. After about an hour, we reach one of the sandy beaches on the island, where we have time to swim and enjoy the sun. We return to the camping. The accommodation is in tents in the campground.
Sunday: after the morning coffee we keep our kayak trip round the Ammouliani island, and will visit the close small islands. We will stop for a break on small beaches and will enjoy the beautiful view in front of us of mount Athos. With the kayaks we reach Ouranoupuli, which is located 1km away from the boundary with Holly mount Athos. We will have a walk in the village, load the kayaks and head to Sofia.
Recommended period: April – October.
Needed things for the kayaking: clothes for the kayaking, beach towel, long sleeve clothes for the evenings, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen.
Meeting point: parking lot of stadium Vasil Levski.
The program can be elongated to 4,5 days and can be combined with the kayaking round Diaporos island.
