The river is called ‘ the treasure of Europe’, long 140km, located in the national park Durmitor. The rafting trip on the river in the whole canyon is about 82 km, as most of its part –about 60m, is in the national park Durmitor.

Day one: we leave Sofia early in the morning, and arrive close to the starting point of the rafting for the next day. We have dinner and the accommodation is in bungalows.

Day two: after breakfast we prepare our luggage and load it into the boats as we have ahead of us a 2 day rafting expedition on the river. We have lunch during the rafting. The track we will pass is about 60km long. The paddling for the day is about 6 hours. We enjoy the beautiful waterfalls that surround us. We have dinner and the accommodation is in bungalows.

Day three: after breakfast we equip and load the luggage on the rafts. We head to the most extreme part of Tara River. During our trip we enjoy beautiful scenery and extreme rapids. We pass by a beautiful waterfall, and can pass under it. The river color is sky blue, and due to its purity we can see the bottom of the river even in the deepest sections. Lunch. We have free time to relax. We have dinner and the accommodation is in bungalows.

Day four: Breakfast. We pack our luggage and head to Sofia. On the way we stop in the village ‘Mokra gora’, which is popular after the reconstruction of the narrow railway in the area. From birth sight the railway can be seen as the digit eight. The popularity of Mokra gora is gained by the ethno Wooden village, created by the world known movie director Emir Kosturica. All the houses and the small church are wooden, and all the streets are named after popular celebrities – Nikita Mihalkov, Ernesto Che Gevara, etc. We arrive in the evening in Sofia.

Recommended period: June-September.

Level of difficulty: we recommend you to have tried rafting on other rivers, before coming to the rafting in the whole canyon on Tara River.

Needed things for the rafting trip: swimming suit, t-shirt and a towel, thicker clothes for the evenings, food during the trip.
